Magnolia Jazzband

Magnolia Jazzband has been a central part of the Norwegian jazz community for 50 years. The band has a big loyal audience in Norway, but also play numerous gigs in Europe, as well as the home town of the jazz – New Orleans.

They started in 1972 by the trombone player Gunnar Gotaas, they are one of few bands playing New Orleans Revival Jazz, a style from the 40´s: a mix between tradicional Jazz and “Rythm Blues”.

Rooted in 20s- and 30s New Orleans jazz, Magnolia Jazz Band hold a rich church repertoire, having played several hundred church concerts. Now they are celebrating their 50 years anniversary.
