This night promises a full package for the audience: Electrocutango performs live in the Main Hall while Argentine tango dancers Geraldine and Ezequiel unfold their art on stage alongside Gry Bech Hansen and Kristian Alm from Norway.
The evening also includes a pre-talk on the Foyer stage with Ina Eriksen. After the concert in the Main Hall, it's time for Milonga on the dance floor at the Foyer stage.
Electrocutango presents the concert performance Contrastes.
Behind the name Electrocutango hides composer and musician Sverre Indris Joner – a true veteran in Latin American music in Norway. The band's innovative approach renews tango as a musical and dance form. Electrocutango recently released their third album Contrastes, taking their unmistakable blend of intense Argentine tango, electronica, funk, and jazz to the next level.
Contrasts
This evening features an exciting collaboration with the talented Argentine tango dance couple Geraldin Rojas and Ezequiel Paludi, along with the renowned Norwegian dancers Gry Bech-Hansen and Kristian Alm, with backgrounds from the Opera and various modern ensembles. Veteran in modern dance, Nina Lill Svendsen, also contributes as a choreography consultant and stage director.
The premise is simple - Electrocutango's music continually crosses the boundaries between Argentine tradition and inspiration from various other popular genres. Not unlike the attitude in hip-hop - where nothing is forbidden but must be used with imagination, courage, and talent. Thus, these dancers are invited to explore dance and music in a similar way from their respective perspectives.
Milonga Party
After the concerts, the night continues at the Foyer stage. Here, there will be a Milonga party, a dance floor in the name of tango!
Experience the atmosphere from Argentina's clubs and dance into the night with us.
Time: 21:00-00:00
PS: Tickets for the Milonga party are purchased in addition to the concert for NOK 50.
