Bouncing Narratives is a jumbled mess. A playful wash of images, sounds and movements revealing the fine line between pure joy and distress. Centred around a trauma that cannot be expressed in words, in this piece two performers bounce back again and again.
Using a minimal vocabulary, nuances of rhythm and speed become the main components of a performative act which animates the installation and drives us towards a trance-like intensity.
In this interdisciplinary collaborative project, Roza Moshtaghi and Shahrzad Malekian propose a heterotopian space for the alienated body to explore the vulnerable side of a “monster identity” and the gap between the self and the “other.”
